meet misstachio
So, who am I?
Hi, I’m Misstachio! Nope, not my real name, but it’s what I go by here. It comes from my deep, borderline ridiculous love for pistachios.
I’m a woman in my early 30s, living in Estonia, a small but charming country in Northern Europe. Estonia is basically forests, cozy winters, and people who respect your personal space. We’ve got fast Wi-Fi everywhere (even in the middle of the woods) and weather that keeps you guessing all year round.
Food has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time obsessing over it – whether that’s cooking, eating, or scrolling Pinterest for recipes I’ll never make. I’ve tried probably every diet under the sun (yes, even the weird ones), signed up for fitness classes I regretted halfway through, and flirted with the idea of giving up carbs. Spoiler: the carbs won. Every time. Over time, though, my health started paying the price. I reached a point where I knew if I didn’t make a change soon, it might be too late. (Though, really, is it ever too late? I wasn’t willing to gamble on that.)
That’s when I decided to take a huge step and have mini gastric bypass surgery.
This blog is my space to share that journey – the highs, the lows, and the “nobody tells you this part” moments. I know how it feels to struggle with being overweight. I know what it’s like to hear nasty comments, not just from strangers, but sometimes from people close to you. I know the sinking feeling of wondering if the plane seatbelt will fit, or the dread of shopping for clothes and not finding your size. It’s exhausting, and you’re not alone.
When I’m not blogging or thinking about food (because let’s be real, I do that still quite a lot), I’m hanging out with my husband or our dog, who thinks he’s the king of the house. You might also find me binge-watching TV shows or chilling with friends & family.
So, welcome! Grab a coffee or a snack (because snacks make everything better) and take a look around. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or just quietly lurk – no judgment here.
P.S. Quick heads-up: I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, or fitness coach. Everything I share here is just my personal experience. If you’re making big decisions, please talk to someone with actual qualifications.
